Replacing you old air conditioning or heat pump with a new unit can be a smart move for many reasons. Miller plumbing Heating Cooling recommends you consider a few things when replacing your air conditioner or heat pump.

Location, a unit next to your deck can be loud and unpleasant consider moving the unit to the side of your home if possible. Sizing, if a unit short cycles or run non stop it may be a sign that it is not the correct size,this can also happen because of  additions that have been added on.

  When selecting your new  air conditioner or heat pump keep in mind that R22 freon will no longer be an option in HVAC equipment manufactured after January 1, 2010. R410a freon its replacement is better for the environment  and safer for the ozone.

  When replacing a R 22 system  all components (line set, a-coil condenser, evaporator) should be replaced. Also equipment  with a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 15 and above installed in 2009 will qualify for a tax credit.
