When you are ready to replace your straight air conditioner or furnace there are many more reasons to buy a heat pump instead of a straight air conditioner besides energy savings. Customers who have water heaters that are 8 years old or have boilers, furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps that are older than 10 years really need to look hard at this new tax credit.
