Author: When selecting your new air conditioner or heat pump keep in mind that R22 freon will no longer be an option in HVAC equipment manufactured after January 1, 2010. R410a freon its replacement is better for the environment and safer for the ozone.
When replacing a R 22 system all components (line set, a-coil condenser, evaporator) should be replaced. Also equipment with a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 15 and above installed in 2009 will qualify for a tax credit.
