Miller Plumbing Heating Cooling has been installing Hot Water Heaters for 30 years. Although they all do the same thing (Heat Water) their design dependability and longevity differ. Rheem uses a Guardian System double protection safety system.

Maintenance free self cleaning and easy to light with no matches. Long life patented magnesium anode rod and brass drain valve and factory installed safety relief valve set this tank apart from other tanks.

Water expands when heated. This extra volume of water needs somewhere to go. When I started 30 years ago a expansion tank was mainly found only on a hot water boiler system. Today however it is mandatory that the inlet cold water supply line at your water meter assembly have a back flow or check valve device to eliminate any chance of contaminating the public water supply.
When your water heater heats water it creates thermal expansion. A expansion tank is installed on the cold water line by your hot water tank. Left untreated thermal expansion can be vary unsafe. The increased pressure in a closed system will make your safety relief valve leak and cause other flexible hoses or pipes to burst.
The thermal expansion can also cause the internal flue in your gas or propane water heater to collapse and cause carbon monoxide to enter your home.

High water pressure is the cause of many household problems. Excessive leaking of faucets, pipe bang and water hammer when a dishwasher, commode or wash machine turns on or shuts off.
High water pressure is often the cause of ruptured wash machine hoses that can cause a lot of water damage. Another tell tale sign of high water pressure is the hot water tank safety relief valve leaking.
Miller Plumbing Heating Cooling can test your water pressure and if necessary install a pressure reducing valve. While there we will also test for thermal expansion.
